Funny Moment: Helping lead the AKA Olympics because I was able to see people spin and fall down, struggle to eat food, and I was able to find out that Wisconsin can be someone’s dream vacation, and that same person spells Buffalo with a “w”.
Why did you join staff?
I joined staff because Filipinos in Alliance is very important to me. My freshman year, it helped me meet some of my closest friends, gain a sense of belonging at UIC because of my Kuya Phill and my Ate Lainey, and become more informed about the Filipino culture. After being on staff for two years, I felt like I had the experience necessary to help lead FIA to bigger, brighter future.
What are you excited for this year?
I am excited for the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Cubs. I am also excited to help the freshmen and other younger classes develop a sense of community and family.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff?
I hope that we are able to recreate a passion for FIA within the members.

Why did you join staff? I joined staff because FIA has done so much for my college experience that I want people to experience if not the same, more.
What are you excited for this year? I am excited to meet and get to know new members and also start Modern. I would also like to contribute more to the Filipino community and learn more Tagalog.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? I want to enrich the relationship and bond between FIA and our ading schools, Marquette University and University of Wisconsin – Madison. I also want FIA to get more involved with our other Midwest organizations and make the Midwest a more notable Filipino supporting community.

Why did you join staff? I joined staff because I’ve seen the positive influence past staff members have had on the entire organization and I want to be a part of that.

What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? The first general meeting of the year always seems to be the biggest. So I hope to try and keep FIA’s members active. I would also like FIA to be more hands on in our community by donating our time to those in need whether it’s at a soup kitchen or in a classroom setting.

Why did you join staff? I joined staff because FIA helped make my first year at UIC amazing, and I really just wanted to give back and make sure future members had the opportunity to share in that experience.
What are you excited for this year? I'm excited for Believe, Battle, and Nite. :-) I'm also very excited to learn new dances in cultural this year.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? This year on staff, I hope to be able to help FIA gain a little more knowledge about their roots and get the org out into the city a little more.

What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? I hope to get in touch with my cultural side even more than I already have; there’s so much to learn and I hope others will be able to learn along with me.

Why did you join staff? – I joined staff to expose others to my love for dance and to grow as a dancer and a choreographer.
What are you excited for this year? – I’m excited to be leading FIA Cultural into events such as FACT, MAFA and Uproot.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? – I hope to bring to light the cultural aspects of being a Filipino American to ALL of FIA.

Funny moment: During the 2009 spring semester, I fell asleep at 1049 with my shoes on. EVERYONE at the apartment used several highlighters to draw on me - I mean EVERYONE - even my Kuya. I’m glad they didn’t use something worse, like permanent marker or wood paint. Oh yeah, this all happened the day before Sayawan.
Why did you join staff? I joined staff primarily because I want to be more involved in the Filipino community. Secondarily, I want to graduate college with more than my education – I want to from UIC with an unforgettable college experience and I believe that Filipinos in Alliance can help me with this goal.
What are you excited for this year? I am very excited to make new friends, FIA Modern, FIA Cultural, FACT, Battle, of the Bamboo, Uproot, MAFA, staff meetings, general meetings, potlucks, Sayawan, Ricebowl, Night in Manila…basically I’m excited for everything.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? First, I want to bring a sense of unity between the younger generations of FIA. Second, I want to continue the tradition of the canned food drive that the previous PROs started as well as organize a clothing drive during the winter.

Why did you join staff? I joined staff in the hopes of encouraging my class (2011) of taking a more active role in FIA now that we're upper classmen. I wanted to ensure that we would be prepared to be good examples for the next generation and successfully pass the torch to them as well.
What are you excited for this year? I'm excited to finally have an ading and chances to network with other Fil-Am orgs through different conferences and outings.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? My goal is to encourage members to not just be affiliated with this organization, but to be members committed to seeing this group grow by being involved. I'd love to have people not just be regular attendees at gen meetings, but also members who are giving their resources to make an impact at UIC and in the Chicagoland area.

Funny moment: During my freshman year, I was going down the escalators at SCE and all of sudden I felt a tug by my wrist. When I looked down, I found out that I got the sleeve of my jacket stuck on the escalator handles… all because I was looking at some guy who I thought was so cute. Hahahahaha.
Why did you join staff? I’ve always been involved with FIA since my first year here at UIC. I feel like being a staff member gives me an opportunity to contribute to FIA and help other incoming FIA members have a great experience like I did.
What are you excited for this year? Simply being able to get to know my fellow FIA members. Oh, and getting a new addition to my FIAmily, an ading =)
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? I want to continue to have FIA become a second family to its members through workshops, outings, potlucks, other social events and just by simply spending time together. At the same time, I also want to help the organization as a whole truly fulfill our mission statement with educating others about the Filipino culture.

Why did you join staff? I wanted to see the inner workings of this organization and help with all the event planning.
What are you excited for this year? Everything! Ricebowl, potlucks, FACT, potlucks, MAFA, potlucks, intramurals, and just more potlucks.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? I want to get more people involved in sports as an opportunity to meet new people both within, and outside of FIA . Also win the championship in Ricebowl!

Why did you join staff? I joined so then I could keep up what past Modern Coords have done for FIA and help with moving the dance troupe forward.
What are you excited for this year? I want to show FIA and everyone else that Modern can be a great, fun, and exciting dance group.
What do you hope to accomplish this year on staff? I want to develop positive improvements to FIA Modern and aid in anything that our awesome Pres will need to get done.
