Welcome to IGSA Association Alumni,
As we all know, alumni have much to offer current students. The possibilities are endless and may include career counseling, mentoring, leadership skill training and assistance with networking. Who better to assist current campus leaders than individuals who served this campus role only a few years earlier ? Although campus trends and issues will change, alumni often offer a long-term vision of the institution and can impart a special type of wisdom that only comes from personal experience.
Developmentally speaking, alumni can offer guidance and assistance on the transition from campus to community leader. From a credibility standpoint, alumni often rate higher with current students because they are perceived as having walked in the shoes of the student leader. This translates to a relationship built upon the common challenges facing past and present campus leaders.
