| Article 1: Name of the
Organization |
|||
| Section 1: The name of this organization shall be Korean Undergraduate Student Association |
|||
|
Article 2: Purpose |
|||
| Section 1: The purpose of this organization is to encourage and reward academic excellence, to promote the campus, to address Korean-American issues, and lastly to provide cultural and social activities for its members. |

|
Article 3: Membership |
|||
|
Section 1: Members will be determined as regular member and honorary member. Regular members are any UIC undergraduate students. Subsection 2: Honorary members are student spouse, ESL, students, graduate-students, faculty, and staff at UIC. Section 2: Members are responsible for a $10 annual fee. Section 3: Only regular members have a right to vote. |

Article 4: Meetings |
|||
| Section 1: Regular meetings of this organization shall be held once every term, excluding summer. Section 2: Special meetings shall be held by petition of three of more members or if called by the president. Section 3: At least one half of the regular members must be present to hold a meeting. Otherwise, the meeting shall be scheduled for another day. |

Article 5: Officers |

| Section 1: This organization shall have President, Vice-President, General-Advisor, Treasurer, Secretary, and Events Coordinator. (All officers are eligible to serve for another term except for the President.) Subsection 1: The President shall coordinate the organization's activities, oversee meetings, and implement established goals. Subsection 2: The Vice-President shall participate in the conduct of meetings and in the case of absence of the president, he/she shall perform the duties of the president. Subsection 3: The general advisor shall execute duties among members for events and help plan activities. Subsection 4: The treasurer shall be the principal accounting and financial officer for the organization. Subsection 5: The secretary is responsible for taking attendance, and to record decisions made at the meetings. Subsection 6: The event coordinator is responsible for maintaining all activities. |

Article 6: Funding |

| Section 1: Funding shall come from the membership fees, various fund raising activities, and donations from interested parties. |

Article 7: Election |
|||
| Section 1: Officer shall be elected by the regular members, Elections shall be held during the spring term for the fall. Subsection 1: The President and Vice-President shall be elected by 2/3 votes by nomination of at least three members. Subsection 2: General advisor, treasurer, secretary, event coordinator shall be appointed by the president and the vice-president, or by nomination of 3 or more members. Subsection 3: Elections shall be held by secret ballots. |

Article 8: Supplementary Provision |
|||
| Section 1: If the President cannot complete the duties, or is not able to perform the duties than a new president can be elected by approval from 2/3 of the members. |

|
Article 9: |
|||
| This constitution shall go into effect as of
April 30th of 1998. |
