Scholarship Information

Ralph Modjeski Scholarship Fund

Annual Scholarship
Amount: Varies
Due Date: Applications should be submitted by May 30th (Post Office stamp)

Requirements:

  • To apply you must be an engineering or architectural student at 4-year college or university. Applicant must be entering a sophomore year when application is submitted. Graduate engineering or architectural students may also apply.
  • Applicant must be permanent residence address in Illinois and attending colleges or universities in the Midwest region (states of IL, WI, IA, IN, MI, MO and OH only).
  • Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic achievements as well as demonstrated commitment to engineering.

Application:
Applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed application form
  • Official transcript
  • Two hundreds words letter describing the student's short and long term goals any other information deemed pertinent
  • Three written references with addresses and telephone numbers (included in this documentation package, unless university’s policy required direct mailing)

American Council for Polish Culture

Annual Scholarship
Amount: $2,000 (toward transportation and tuition expenses)
Due Date: February 1, 2010

Requirements:

  • Be an American of Polish Descent
  • Attend an accredited School of higher learning
  • (entering junior or senior year at a college or university).
  • Have an ACPC affiliation by:
    a. belonging to an ACPC affiliate or supporting organization, or
    b. being an individual member of the ACPC, or
    c. being RECOMMENDED by a Member of an affiliate or supporting organization.

Application:
Applicants must submit the following:

  • Completed application form
  • Official transcript designating scholastic achievement
  • Description of involvement in Polish-American community via ACPC or other organizations
  • Two letters of recommendation: one from an ACPC Affiliate or Supporting Organization, one from a professor
  • In no more than 200 words, explain "Why I should receive the ACPC Summer Study in Poland Scholarship."

Pulaski Scholarship for Advanced Studies 2010

Amount: $5000
Due Date: March 15th, 2010

Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States of America and of Polish ancestry. (If not born in the U.S., submit evidence of U.S. citizenship, e.g., copy of pertinent passport page or provide date and ID number of Naturalization document)
  • Applicant must be a classified graduate student enrolled at an accredited university in the United States and must have completed at least one year of studies at the graduate level.
  • Prior winners of an ACPC Pulaski Scholarship are ineligible.

Tomaszkiewicz-Florio Scholarships

Amount: up to $7,000
Due Date: March 31st, 2010

Requirements:

  • Scholarship applicants must be full-time high school seniors or undergraduate students.
  • Applicant must be US citizens and permanent residents of Polish descent who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher may apply to compete for a scholarship.

Application:
  • Send two completed application forms
  • three passport-size photos with name printed on the reverse
  • official transcripts
  • financial information form
  • two letters of reference from professors/teachers
  • essay on why you are applying to the program, the reason for your choice of lecture classes and your reasons for applying for the program. The essay should be a minimum of two pages and must include your full name, "Summer Sessions" and page number on each page of the essay

AIPC Scholarship - Harriet Irsay Scholarship

Amount: ten to fifteen $1,000 grants
Due Date: April 19th, 2010

Requirements:

  • Scholarships are awarded on a merit basis to full time undergraduates or graduates who are American citizens or permanent residents preferably of Polish heritage
  • Completed application
  • School transcripts
  • Detailed resume
  • An essay “Why should I receive the scholarship” (200-400 words)
  • An original article (up to 700 words), written by the applicant on any subject about Poland.
  • Three original recommendation letters from teachers or others familiar with the academic background and applicant’s plans for the future. These letters must be originals on letterhead stationery, signed and mailed by faculty directly to the Institute. No copies, faxes or unsigned letters will be accepted.
  • $10.00 check or money order as a non-refundable processing fee.

Polish National Alliance Scholarship Award Program

Amount: varies
Due Date: April 15th, 2010

Requirements:

  • Full time students who will be Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors in the Fall 2010 semester qualify for scholarships. Incoming Freshmen Do Not Qualify.
  • All applications must be completed, signed by the Lodge President or Secretary of which the student belongs to.
  • School transcripts
  • The application MUST be sent with an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Copies and or internet downloads of TRANSCRIPTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
