Purpose

The purpose of the organization shall be to provide warm and friendly communication among Sri Lankan students, promote cultural communications with other communities and provide helping hand to the new coming students. SLGSA Constitution.

Sri Lankan graduate student association (SLGSA) of University of Illinois at Chicago is comprised of a relatively small community of students, faculty, staff and past students who have their origin in an island almost on the other side of the world. During their busy schedule of work and study, the members manage to find time to have several gatherings each year and enjoy the company of their country fellows. All members willingly look forward to society's annual events such as society's dinner party, summer barbeque and the society trip and participate them with lots of interest.

Sri Lankan association would like to invite all students, past students, faculty members and staff members who have their origin in Sri Lanka to come and join the society. Others who are interested are also welcome to join us in our functions.

This official website of the society is expected to help strengthen the unity among Sri Lankans at UIC and as well as other Sri Lankan communities in Chicago & suburbs. Your valuable suggestions and comments would be of immense importance in future developments of our society. Please send your comments to us at slgsa@uic.edu
