M4 Year

M4 year is the second of two years of clinical training. Schedules are significantly different between students with ~16 weeks of basic specialties, a medicine sub-internship (4 weeks), and 20 weeks of electives required. Students are also busy applying to residency programs. Many students choose to spend 4 weeks clerkships at institutions where they desire a residency.

The basic specialities include:
  • Anesthesia (4 weeks)
  • Dermatology (2 weeks)
  • Otolaryngology (2 weeks)
  • Orthopedic surgery (2 weeks)
  • Urology (2 weeks)
  • Radiology (2 weeks)
  • Neurology (2 weeks)
  • Emergency Medicine (2 weeks)
  • Ophthalmology (1 week)
