Pi Tau Sigma's UIC Alpha Sigma is pleased to announce that the 2011 Pi Tau Sigma National Convention will be held at UIC, tentatively February 11th-13th 2011.
If you plan on attending the convention, please fill out:
Pi Tau Sigma's 2011 National Convention will be held this year at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The events will be held at The Crowne Plaza on Halsted and on UIC's east campus. The dates of the convention are Friday Feb.11th- Sunday Feb.13th.
Hotels are $114 after tax per night and can be reserved by clicking here, or called in at 312-829-5000. Please remember to mention Pi Tau Sigma Convention when making reservations.
The registration fee is set at $85 per member, but may go down depending on future sponsorships. Please individually register for the convention at this link here. The last day to register without a fee is 1/14/2011. For those registering after this day, an additional $15 late fee will be assessed. The absolute last day we can accept members is Feb. 5th. For those driving
Parking on campus is $10 per night per car. If you are planning on leaving the parking space and returning during the convention you will need an additional parking pass.
For those flying
O'hare and Midway airports are both available as destinations. You may download directions using the L trains from here. The L trains cost $2.25 for each ride so there and back will only cost you $4.50. Count on about an hour commute time from the O'hare to the hotel and Midway will be an hour and a 15 minutes due to the transfer from one train to another.
For those using Greyhound
The Greyhound stop is located at 630 W Harrison St, Chicago, Illinois. This is only 4 blocks away from the hotel and would be very convenient for people using this transportation. Once you are at the bus station just walk west towards the UIC campus and you will run into Halsted street (1 block). Turn right at Halsted and walk north (3 blocks) until you are right outside of the hotel.
For those using Amtrak
You will want to use the destination stop of Union Station. This station is located at 210 S Canal St Chicago, Illinois 60606. Depending on what exit you come out of you could be in any of 4 locations. The best bet is to try and find your location on this map and walk north first to Madison street (2-4 blocks). Then walk west, or away from the downtown area, (3-5 blocks) till you are at the entrance of the hotel.
