APhA Meeting, Synopsis 11/10/2009

Dr. Harold N. Godwin, APhA Presdient-Elect, Professor and Associate Dean at The University of Kansas School of Pharmacy spoke about leadership in his presentation titled "A Blueprint for Creating Your Leadership Future." He defined leadership as influence; the ability of one person to influence others, with traits including change, risk and courage. As a leader, it is important be involved in all facets of your life, including school, work, community, and family. Possibly one of the most important characteristics of leadership is communication. Dr. Godwin also expressed the importance of the value of having a mentor and networking. He left with the message that leadership is having a purpose and a passion for what you do. The next APhA meeting will be 11/24.
