About APhA-ASP
Mission
The mission of APhA-ASP is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, and to envision and actively promote the future of pharmacy. As a chapter we strive to prepare pharmacy students to be professionals who provide and promote pharmaceutical care as well as to become advocates for the profession.
Brief History
Founded in 1852, APhA is the sixth oldest national professional society and is largely responsible for the creation of such organizations as the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the National Association Boards of Pharmacy. APhA is the ONLY national professional society that represents pharmacists in ALL practice settings. APhA-ASP is the student section representing over 18,000 students at all of the nation's pharmacy schools. As a member of APhA-ASP, you are part of America's largest association of pharmacists in the world; an association dedicated to "revolutionizing" the practice of pharmacy.

Why APhA-ASP Needs You
Our chapter is only as strong as its members. We are a team, a team that promotes community service, professionalism, advocacy for the profession, and development of leadership skills. Everyone has something to give; whether it is your enthusiasm, your motivational spirit, your ability to see the big picture, or your attention to detail. Distinct individuals with their own strengths make a winning team! This year will be a great year for us. We hope that you will join us in making a positive difference for our profession and in our community.
Your involvement in APhA-ASP does not end once you graduate from pharmacy school. The friends you make, the skills you learn, and your professional growth will be with you for the rest of your professional life. Once you graduate you will have the opportunity to be involved in two academies of APhA (Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Academy of Pharmaceutical Research and Science). Do not miss the opportunity to find out what it truly means when one says, "I am a pharmacist." Join APhAASP now!
