Heartburn Awareness

Our objectives for the awareness campaign are to increase public awareness on heartburn management and causes. Help the public identify what triggers their heartburn and how they can avoid these triggers Encourage patients to take control of managing their heartburn by providing supplemental information for patients to take with them.

Operation Diabetes

Operation Diabetes is a diabetes screening campaign developed by APhA-ASP in an effort to identify patients with undiagnosed diabetes and increase the public's awareness of the role of the pharmacist in diabetes care.

Operation Immunization

To increase awareness among the public regarding the health benefits of vaccination and adequately address misconceptions that patients might have about vaccines and to ultimately promote the profession of pharmacy.

Promote women's health and education through various projects

Legislative Committee

Keep the students at UIC informed, updated, and energized about the pharmacy-related legislative affairs in the state of Illinois

IPSF/Smoking Cessation

The objective of the smoking cessation committee is to promote public health throughout the community by assisting patients in quitting smoking. The committee also promotes the pharmacist's role in patient care by demonstrating pharmacists' knowledge in smoking cessation medications and behavioral modifications necessary to quit smoking.

International Pharmacy Students Federation (IPSF)

To introduce any and all opportunities that we have to volunteer, study elsewhere, and bring other students to cop from around the world.

Professional Affairs

Promote, organize and oversee the competition in the fall and to help organize events in October to help recognize American Pharmacist Month in our community.

Professional Events

To plan ASP attendance for the Midyear, IPhA Annual, and National Annual Meetings and to act as contact person for communications regarding these meetings.

Public Relations

Our Public Relations committee works to promote events held by APhA-ASP and acts as a liaison to the public media.

Social Affairs

To organize fundraising and social events for the student chapter of the American Pharmacists Association.
