Smoking Cessation
The objective of the smoking cessation committee is to promote public health throughout the community by assisting patients in quitting smoking. The committee also promotes the pharmacist's role in patient care by demonstrating pharmacists' knowledge in smoking cessation medications and behavioral modifications necessary to quit smoking.

Provided nicotine replacement medication information, designed individual behavioral modification plans, and performed carbon monoxide screenings at University Village Pharmacy and Osco Pharmacy
Present Projects
- Smoking cessation group counseling sessions set up at the Wellness Center on the East side of campus. 1-hour sessions on September 30th, October 28th, and November 25th from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. Dr. Kim and/or Dr. Wilken will be leading the sessions. Pharmacy students will get a chance to contribute to a group discussion and provide one-on-one counseling.

- Facilitating monthly group counseling sessions at the Wellness Center (Tentative dates: September 30, October 28th, November 25th)
- Community Pharmacy information booths and carbon monoxide screenings
- Health Fairs
