Promote women's health and education through various projects

Past Projects

  • Women's health flu shot program and the UIC-women's clinic, with Dr. Wasik. Students provided education on the influenza vaccine to pregnant women at the clinic. Upon consent Dr Wasik was able to provide the shot. This program was approved by the IRB and each participant was trained by Dr. Wasik.

Present Projects

  • Selling teal ribbons for The National Cervical Cancer Coalition.

Future Projects

  • Women's Heritage Month at UIC in March: APhA will be presenting info/education about women's health.

Goals for the upcoming year

  1. I hope to get more participation from students, and get training accomplished much earlier. I think by providing opportunities for students close to campus it may lead to greater participation. We as pharmacy students are a great benefit to the community so we should definitely put ourselves out there while we're here, available, and in school.
