The 2005 ASCE Great Lakes Regional Competition will be hosted by the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Illinois Institute of Technology.
In the Concrete Canoe Competition, college teams design, construct, test
and race a canoe made entirely of concrete, demonstrating the durability
and flexibility of concrete as a building material.
In the Steel Bridge Competition, students design and fabricate a scaled 1:10 steel bridge, erected as quickly as possible over a mock river valley in a mountainous rural region.
Other competitions include: Balsa Wood Structure, Concrete Baseball Bat, Environmental,
and the Technical Paper/Presentation. |
