Chicago Marathon Volunteering
Great News! We all have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the great Chicago Marathon by cheering on the runners this Sunday! We will be joining UIC’s Chicago Diabetes Project in cheering on runners at the Mile-14 cheering sections located at the corner of Adams and Throop (located by Whitney Young High School). The expected time for us to be there is 6:30 a.m., now I know that is extremely early for a lot of you especially on a Sunday morning, and it lasts till about 11:45.
So if the idea of waking up early on a Sunday morning and volunteering your time to cheer on the runners isn’t motivating enough to make it, then how about the PROMISE of free snacks and an Awesome T-SHIRT!! Everyone who makes it out will have snacks provided for them as well as a t-shirt. BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!! If we can be the group with the most people present we will win a fully paid for PIZZA PARTY!!
I will be waiting in the quad tomorrow morning, bright and early, around 6:00 a.m., so that we can all head over there as an awesome group! If you are interested in going you can either let me know in advance, email: email@example.com: (815) 861-7933, or just show up! Just make sure you let me know at some point if you go so you can get credit for it in BOA.
I know this is EXTREMELY short notice, but hopefully you all will be able to make it!
Feel free to bring your family and friends! And spread the word to any BIOE’s you know and any other BOA members!
Hope to see you all there!!
