AMWA (American Medical Women’s Association) celebrates more than 90 years of advocating for women’s health and supporting women in medicine. In previous years our local chapter was involved with a number of activities including:

Domestic violence education and outreach, lunchtime lecture from Cook County’s Hospital crisis Intervention Project, Produced domestic violence screening cards (will be distributed in ECM), Participated in medical student recruitment for a course on Teenage Dating violence

AMWA also sponsored:

Holiday care package/Exam Survival Goodies fundraiser, Locks-of-Love hair donation to make wigs for children with alopecia, Adopt-a-mom program pairing medical students with pregnant women to follow the course of their pregnancies
