Islamic Network of Clinicians and University Students
Contact: Jawwad Hussain INCUS is a network-based organization of students, alumni, and faculty of UIC-COM. INCUS aims to create Islamic awareness while providing medical students with resources and community service opportunities to further enhance their medical education. Goals of Organization: INCUS is intent on fostering communication within Chicago amongst medical students, residents, faculty, and physicians both within and without the Muslim community. In previous years INUS has participated in events along with Rush Med, University of Chicago Med, Loyola Med, and Northwestern Medical School. In regards to events, INCUS invited a representative of Voices in the Wilderness to speak on the state of Iraq's healthcare system. During the Islamic month of fasting (Ramadan), INCUS and UIC Pharm students organized daily dinners. Also we hold a dinner to celebrate Eid. INCUS set up a volunteer program so medical students could assist at the IMAN free health clinic on Southside Chicago. |
