For the last several years JHPS has united the Jewish health students at UIC by creating a cultural network of students and fostering a sense of community. We attempt to provide social and academic support among our members. M1 students are encouraged to join and benefit from the knowledge of and guidance of the upperclassmen. Our goal is to serve the Chicago Jewish Community and create cross-cultural awareness. JHPS provides both small group and open lectures for all medical students focusing on health and medical issues within the Jewish community. The organization is continuously developing with new ideas, but in the past we have provided information to members regarding community opportunities, ran blood drives, and usually meet once a month.
