The 3rd Annual CRS-Illinois Student Chapter Symposium wasWe are planning an all day event with speakers on a variety of topics pertaining to controlled drug delivery and nanotechnology in cancer therapeutics. We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker for this year is Dr. Jindrich Kopecek, Distinguished Professor of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Utah. Other speakers include Dr. Philip Messersmith, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, Dr. Jianjun Cheng, Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Dr. Seungpyo Hong, Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics and Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
organized to foster and enhance the exchange of ideas amongst
students, and scientists alike who are interested in the broad
area of controlled drug release and related fields. Our society's main
event this year, a One Day Symposium, will provide a more in-depth
knowledge of controlled release research and promote networking
in research between academia and industry. The symposium will be
held on Friday, August 12, 2011 and the topic for the symposium is:
"Recent Advances in Nanotechnology for Cancer Therapy".
A poster session will be held at which all attendees are invited to share their research. Abstracts of all kinds will be accepted and awards will be given for the best posters at the symposium. First place will receive a travel award to attend the CRS Annual Meeting in 2012. Submit your abstract now!!
Space is limited and reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, so please register early to assure your seat! If you would like to become a member of our organization fill out our membership form or purchase your membership along with symposium registration for a discounted rate.
