The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) serves the scientific and professional needs of OR/MS investigators, scientists, students, educators, and managers. It provides rational bases for decision making by seeking to understand and structure complex situations to predict and improve system behavior and performance. INFORMS is dedicated to advancing the development and dissemination of all aspects of Operations Research and the Management Sciences (OR/MS).

INFORMS UIC Student Chapter provides an extension of our national chapter mission by enabling a supportive network of fellow students and concerned faculty. It is INFORMS' goal to help students learn more about their field and also to prepare them for their careers. The organization offers weekly meetings with cooperate speakers discussing the current trends in our diverse field and career opportunities offered at their companies. These meetings provide an opportunity to get information, while ultimately allowing students to network with possible future employers.
