Below are the classes you will be taking in the fall; anatomy, histology, ECM and physiology are year long classes. The books you will need in the spring semester can be found here. Note that these are student recommended books based on last year's schedule so they may be subject to change. It is suggested that you delay the purchase of books until you are sure about which titiles will be used. A list of official texts can be found here.

Anatomy

The texts for the class are Gray's Anatomy For students, Grant's Dissector and Langman's Medical Embryology. It is also important that you buy an atlas, and there are a few options:

Biochemistry

For biochemistry this is no one assigned text, rather, the professor suggests a few potential resources listed here:

Physiology

The assigned text for this class is Costanzo's Physiology.

Students recommended: Costanzo's Physiology.

Histology

The assigned text for this class is Ross and Pawlina's Histology as well as Kierszenbaum's Histology and Cell Biology: An Introduction to Pathology. The Kierszenbaum text is new this year so no student reviews are available. Also, a lab manual is needed that can either be bought in the bookstore or printed out from histology's blackboard page.

Students recommended: Ross and Pawlina's Histology, the class lab manual, and the BRS Histology.Be sure to take a look at the new Kierszenbaum text and get a sense of how much it will be used throughout the year.

Medical Nutrition

The course director suggests Hark and Morrison's Medical Nutrition and Disease.

Essentials of Clinical Medicine

The assigned texts for this class are Bates' Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking and The Clinical Encounter: A Guide to the Medical Interview and Case Presentation.

Students recommended: Both Bate's Guide to Physical Examination and History Taking and The Clinical Encounter: A Guide to the Medical Interview and Case Presentation are recommened.
