The purpose of the University Medical School Counsil (UMSC)is to foster support, communication, and cooperation among the Chicago, Peoria, Rockford, and Urbana campuses in order to promote the collective interests of medical students. Two UMSC representatives are elected from each class per campus, and serve as a liason between their class and the college of medicine. During the academic year, representatives are responsible for attending four meetings at the different campuses to discuss issues relating to the entire college of medicine. Issues on the agenda may include the admissions process, curriculum and instruction changes, research funding distribution, etc... Reprsentatives report back decisions made at the UMSC meetings to their class. UMSC representatives serve as vital voting members at meetings and have a great impact on making decisions that affect the future of the medical school. UMSC Webpage
