Star Program

The NSCS star program is an incentive program.  It gives members the opportunity to benefit from all the time they commit to NSCS.  The way the program works is every event is assigned a number of star points.  This allows members the flexibility to attend events that fit into their schedule.  It is your responsibility to approach a board member at an event and have them record your name in order to get the points.  At the end of the two semesters the board will add up your points and you will be given a star standing.  The standings are as follows:

Gold Star 26-30pts
Silver Star 21-25pts
Bronze Star 16-20pts
Member in good standing 10-15pts
Member (no standing) 0-9pts

Events will be assigned points as follows:

Chapter meetings 2 pts
Short volunteering event (following meeting) 2pts
Volunteer at collection on campus 2pts
Volunteer at a special event on Campus 4pts
Volunteer at an event off campus 6pts
Social events (depends on event and role)
Organizing an event 10pts

**Events during official campus holidays or vacation will be double the points

** You can lose points if you do not follow through with your commitment.  A twenty-four hour notice must be given if you want to avoid this penalty.

** Non-members will receive half of the above points of each event

** The member with the largest total after 2 semesters will attend the leadership summit free of cost (covers airfare, hotel, and meals) --Philadelphia

What can the points get you?
Every point is equivalent to $0.25.  So 24 points is equivalent to a discount of $6 off any item on the NSCS website.  Gold members will also get a free honors cord for graduation.
