PESC Elections  
   

The Professional Engineering Societies Council (PESC) is accepting nominations for officer positions for the 2004-2005 academic year. Please go to the Executive Board and Officers links for a list of available positions. If you are interested in any of the available positions, please e-mail Nima Shahlapour at nshahl1@uic.edu with your name, contact information, the title of the position you are applying for and a brief statement about yourself.

President:
Delegate Responsibility to officers
Prepare agendas and preside at meetings
ensure that tasks are done successfully
Promote growth and visibility of PESC on and off campus
Act as the liaison between the College of Engineering and the various societies


Vice-President - Membership:
Responsible for record keeping of members of PESC
Make PESC Representatives aware of workshops and leadership activities sponsored by the campus
Be contact person for all PESC recruitment activities


Vice-President - Activities and Development:
Develop and execute various fundraising and social activities
Assist the Chairpersons in planning in executing PESC events


Treasurer: This position is not available
Keep track of funds
Attend required Campus Union seminar
Deposit and Withdraw funds


Secretary:
Record and distribute Minutes for each general meeting
Keep a binder of agendas and minutes


Newsletter Editor / Web Page Manager: This position is not available
Work with the secretary and PESC reps in order to produce a newsletter on a regular basis
Update and improve PESC home page frequently


EXPO Chairperson (2 positions available):
Prepare funding proposals
Submit and approve advertising
Arrange for volunteers and judges
Publicize event


National Engineers Week (2 positions available):
Work with the various engineering societies to hold various technical, informational and social events during E-week
Obtain funding
Publicize the event


High School Outreach Program Chairperson (2 positions available):
Promote participation
Hold instructional seminars
Encourage members to visit high schools and present about engineering


Engineering Study Lounge Chairperson: This position is not available
Keep study lounge clean
Continue to improve the study lounge
Open study lounge for appropriate hours of operation


Best Advisor's Award:
Promote the nomination of Best Advisors
Receive nominations and select the Best Advisors
Make arrangements for a reception to hand out the awards


*Co-Chairperson:
Works closely with the Chairperson in planning and execution of the event.

*The following positions need a co-chairperson:
