During the weekend of March 22-24, delegates from UIC attended the
regional conference of the National Association of Engineering Student
Councils (NAESC) held at Purdue University. NAESC is an entirely student
run organization that works to help engineering councils improve by
fostering communication, mentorship, and unity between schools across the
country.
The UIC delegates were John Atterberry, Arun Binaykia, Louann Devine,
Alejandro Rodriguez and Nima Shahlapour. The delegates attend
presentations on a variety of topics and gained a lot of valuable
experience and ideas.
Regional elections were held and I'd like to congratulate Louann Devine of
UIC on being elected as the Vice President of Outreach. I have also been
re-elected as the Regional Director of Relations. Derek Ziolkowski of
UW-Madison will be the next President of the Midwest region. The 2003
NAESC midwest conference will be held at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign.
