9. Describe what you like to do in your spare time and on weekends. In Florida… go to the beach, go scuba diving, gardening, entertaining, drink adult beverages. In Chicago… sightseeing, shopping, RPP events, drink adult beverages

12. What do you plan to do after graduation from UIC COP? (Masters, Residencies, etc. Where?) Retail pharmacy. Maybe a residency

13. What do you like best about school? The friendships that I have formed.

14. What do you like least about school? Being away from my family, my home, my pets, my friends, and my community in St. Petersburg.

15. What is your favorite pharmacy class? All the PDAT courses

    Why? because they are the most relevant.

16. What is your least favorite pharmacy class? Business/management

    Why? because they are so “dry”.

17. How much time do you typically spend studying/doing homework after school? not enough

18. Who has had the most influence on you? My Mom

    How? By being supportive, kind, wise, loving, open-minded, and because she always encouraged me in everything I did in life.

19. What has been the most influential/life-changing event in your life thus far? Being accepted into pharmacy school.

20. Describe your talents. What do you do well? I don’t think I have any…

21. If you had a choice, where would you spend your time? Or where would you like to travel? Tell why. I would like to travel to Africa, Australia, Japan, and to the Virgin Islands because I have never been to those places. I would like to travel to Peru and to Germany because they were so beautiful the first time.

22. If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for?

23. What is your greatest fear? Losing those that I love

24. On what are you an expert? What could you do or talk about for hours? I don’t think I am an expert on much of anything, but there are many topics on which I could talk about for hours. Scuba diving and pets are two such topics.

25. Favorite quote and/or words you live by? People will not look forward to posterity who never look backward to their ancestors. Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens; not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life.

8. What activities are you involved in after school? (job, club, sport, hobby) I do homework or sleep after school. I am involved in this fraternity and SNPhA

9. Describe what you like to do in your spare time and on weekends. I work at Walgreens, I like shopping, going out with friends, seeing a movie, bowling, not much time left in the day to do what I want; so naps are great!

11. How many hours do you sleep most nights? 6

12. What do you plan to do after graduation from UIC COP? (Masters, Residen cies, etc. Where?) Vacation, pass boards, vacation, then find a job in the institutional setting and retail setting

13. What do you like best about school? The time spent laughing with my friends and the whole experience

14. What do you like least about school? The long hours and all the reading

15. What is your favorite pharmacy class? So far 402 is the most interesting

    Why? Probably because we are finally integrating drugs into the lectures

16. What is your least favorite pharmacy class? MedChem and PDAT 1

    Why? MedChem talks about a lot of unnecessary stuff considering most people are not going to go into industry or research. Those topics should be in an optional course. PDAT has been talking about the kidneys for 7 weeks now, give it a rest!

17. How much time do you typically spend studying/doing homework after school? 4-6

18. If you had a choice, where would you spend your time? Or where would you like to travel? Tell why. I want to travel to several countries in Europe, Dubai, and all the islands in the Caribbean

19. If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? A healthy, wealthy, handsome husband that would love me and take care of me forever

3. Which member of your family are you most like? My older brother

    How? Why? We have the same temperament; we’re both introverts; we like educational programming; we like random, useless knowledge; we’re both in the medical field; and some (very few, though) even say we look alike

4. Describe yourself in three words? Predictable, yet unpredictable

5. Where have you lived? 2 houses, 1 apartment, all in Chicago, IL!

6. What is your favorite:

    sport to play/watch? LOVE to watch football (and I’ve played Fantasy Football)

    television show? Everybody Loves Raymond, and reality murder mystery type news shoes (like 48 Hour Mystery); I don’t have cable (anti-mainstream!), so I also enjoy Public Television documentaries and Check Please! as well as other educational programming (NOVA or animal coverage)

    food or type of food? Depends on my mood or craving. There’s almost nothing I wouldn’t try at least once, though.

    type of music/artist? This also depends on my mood. I listen to a wide range, from classical, to industrial, to smooth jazz, and much more.

    movie? I like action/adventure type movies. I also like superhero movies (XMen, Hulk, etc.) and Disney and Pixar cartoons; there are two romantic comedies I like (more comedy than romance): My Big Fat Greek Wedding and The Princess Bride. Most recently, though, I’m also diggin’ The Blindside

    book? My favorite is a good ol’ children’s book by Shel Silverstein called The Giving Tree

8. What activities are you involved in after school? (job, club, sport, hobby) I come home and cook for myself—and my husband. Then I veg out to music or computer games.

9. Describe what you like to do in your spare time and on weekends. See number 8 above. I also visit my family in the burbs and check email. I work 10 hour shifts almost every Saturday, so that day is shot.

10. Do you have an after-school job? YES NO (only Saturdays)

12. What do you plan to do after graduation from UIC COP? (Masters, Residencies, etc. Where?) Work retail; I enjoy the setting. Perhaps get involved in pharmacy groups active in overseas missions

13. What do you like best about school? Flexible schedule; some days I only have class for an hour, and if I don’t feel like showing up, I don’t have to!!! (and there are no consequences)

14. What do you like least about school? Stress—pressure to perform with weekly quizzes, exams, papers, presentations. I always feel like I have to be “on” because I’m being evaluated in one way or another. So tired of lack of sleep because I’m studying!

15. What is your favorite pharmacy class? In hindsight, I have a few…but while going through them, during the semester, I hate them all! No joke, I feel too old for this!

16. What is your least favorite pharmacy class? Either Feelings or Management or Drug Cards.

    Why? Feelings and Management were downright boring and a drag to sit through. Drug Cards felt like a giant Pharmacy School hazing ritual—tons of busy work, but not sure I really learned anything.

17. How much time do you typically spend studying/doing homework after school? Depends on whether there’s a quiz or something due the next day. If not, zero. If yes, several hours.

18. Who has had the most influence on you? That’s a complex one. At different points in my life, different people have had the “most” influence on me. Depending on what age you’re asking about, my answers will vary…

19. What has been the most influential/life-changing event in your life thus far? Watching my parents age and go through various illnesses and health crises over the years.

20. Describe your talents. What do you do well? Complain. But, I also do love to cook and bake (and then EAT!). I’m also great at being a positive role model for my nieces and nephews. I am VERY involved in their lives.

21. If you had a choice, where would you spend your time? Or where would you like to travel? Tell why. I do love to travel. I am a fan of cruises! I would like to see various parts of the world. I would love to visit Iceland, Australia/New Zealand, Madagascar, and a rainforest (Brazil and/or Costa Rica). I’m a HUGE nature and animal lover. I enjoy seeing the untouched earth. (And I want to see the white nights of Iceland during the summer).

22. If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for? That people everywhere, especially closest to me, would know the truth…

23. What is your greatest fear? Losing a loved one

24. On what are you an expert? What could you do or talk about for hours? Finding other people’s mistakes—whether in logic, reasoning, grammar, punctuation, etc. But I’m very humble if I correct them!

8. What activities are you involved in after school? (job, club, sport, hobby) I work at UIC hospital pharmacy 5 weekend days in a month. I also coordinate and teach ESL class Tuesday and Thursday evening. I am very active in church.

9. Describe what you like to do in your spare time and on weekends. Enjoy spending my spare time with loved ones eating out, going to shows and travelling.
