SACNAS-UIC was officially established in 2004 with the goal of carrying on its affiliate's mission. At its basic level, SACNAS-UIC would like to:
-Increase involvement in social and academic activities outside of classroom environment
-Inform students of scholarship, internships, and other academic opportunities
-Offer professional as well as leadership development
-Increase the appreciation and understanding of the sciences
-Build partnerships and collaborate with sister organizations to maximize impact

SACNAS-UIC has its doors open to all social classes, genders, religions, politics and nationalities.
