Please note: These ranges were set based on the NBME national mean score. In order to earn an Outstanding final grade, a student must earn at least 13 points. Therefore, the lower end of the range for 3 points on the exam component was set at the national mean for each discipline. Even if a student earns an Outstanding clinical grade (worth 10 points on the score conversion scale), she/he must get at least 3 points for the exam to get a final grade of Outstanding. Again, the lower limit for 3 points IS the national mean.
