Ranking System
Initial ranking
There will be a ranking tournament. Your points will be determined by the amount of winning matches multiplied by 3. The initial rank for Men Double (MD), Women Double (WD) and Mixed Double (MX) will be determined by the sum of the points of each individual in the pair. The complete ranking can be accessed on the official website and the Facebook site.
General Rules:
- You can only challenge a higher ranked player.
- You can challenge up to 3 ranks ahead (e.g. if you are ranked 6, you can only challenge number 6, 5, 4, or 3).
- Each member can have up to 3 challenges a month.
- You cannot challenge the same person more than one time within two weeks.
- Refusal of a challenge is considered as a loss.
- The challenger must give the challenged at least one week notice and must work with the challenged to arrange a convenient time for both.
- If a higher ranked player wins a challenge match, he or she will earn 1 point. If a lower ranked player wins a challenge math, he or she will earn 2 points.
- The winner of each challenge match must email Chris Cho (ccho6 at uic) the result as soon as possible.
- Use your common sense.
- Each player can only team up with two different players for each event.
- In case of a tie, the ranking will be determined by the ranks of individual players.
