James Bond 007 III (1998)

James Bond 007 III is the first true game for my Bond series. This is due to improved animations, custom graphics, multiple weapons, and enemies that actually shoot back.

Unlike previous versions of my James Bond 007 series, this game was divided into multiple chapter or parts, with usually a single mission per chapter. While still retaining the side-view platformer style, the player now has grenades, mines, and the ability to duck from incoming fire.

Mission 1 has the player infiltrate a weapons cache, meet with 009, plant remote mines, and escape from the base before detonating the mines.

Mission 2 begins with 009 being captured at an enemy base. The player parachutes in, evades the exterior defenses, and infiltrates the base.

This particular level was a challenge as Kilk & Play is designed to create 2D top view arcade games or side view platformers. Once the exterior defenses are breached, the game switches into a first person shooter for the middle part of the level.

Mission 3 begins with the player’s rescue of 009 and their escape.

This level is a simple driving level where the player evades pursuing enemies using the usual set of weapons: machine guns, oil slick, and tire slashers. This was the last released level of the series although more levels were planned and some in various stages of development.
