Chris D. Ochoa
Chris was born in the city of Chicago, and has lived most of his life in the quiet suburb of Hinsdale, IL. He attended Hinsdale Central High School and where he took an interest in the guitar, the romantic poets, and biology. In 2002, Chris matriculated to Grinnell College where he majored in biological chemistry and renaissance art history. To further his study of art, Chris spent a semester abroad in Florence, Italy studying the Italian masters. His time in Europe included travels to England, France, The Netherlands and Spain. During his time at Grinnell, Chris engaged in numerous leadership positions within the student government, serving as the Vice President/President of Academic Affairs in his senior year. In his free time he played guitar in rock bands on campus and devoted time to the art of printmaking, which culminated to a showing in Grinnell's senior art show.
In 2006 Chris graduated from Grinnell College and took an internship with the Continuing Physician Professional Development division of the American Medical Association. This division’s core concern is disseminating information regarding the use of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. The division also works to aid physicians in understanding how and why continuing education credits are important tools in their career. His responsibilities included maintaining an ongoing database of information regarding state medical board CME requirements to better inform physicians about what is required to gain and maintain licensure.
In the fall of 2007, Chris matriculated to University of Illinois in Chicago College of Medicine to pursue his doctorate. His main areas of interests are in neurology and surgery, and he is currently undertaking research in the department of neurology at UIC exploring brain activation patterns during learning tasks. In his free time Chris enjoys exploring web design, photography in and around his neighborhood, and writing in the third person.
