Research Interests

I am interested in the mechanisms and forces underlying evolutionary transitions. In particular, I am interested in the evolution of plant breeding and mating systems (What's the difference? See Neal and Anderson 2005) and associated changes in floral traits and pollination biology. I plan to integrate phylogenetic analysis, population biology, quantitative genetics and field studies to identify and understand ecologically significant character state transitions.
